Welcome to the online 8-ball pool community for Huddersfield!!
The aim of the site is to provide a meeting place for our local pool players to gather and access information on the sport that we all enjoy.
This site was born on May 15th 2005, thanks to those lovely people at Uk8ball who built it for us, and is currently run by site user
neilb, with the help of a few others.
If you have any questions, want a view on something or just fancy a chat, why not register for the site and make a post in our Forums and see what your fellow players have to say!
If you have any problems registering on the site, please send neilb an e-mail, including the name you tried to register.

New Weekly Friday Night Flyer at VQ's

great1 writes There will be a new weekly Friday night flyer starting on 21st November 2008 at VQ’s Sports Club and Bar.
It is only £10 to enter the weekly flyer and players can register from 6pm onwards with all matches to start no later than 7pm.
In the early rounds, all matches will be best of 9 frames with the semi finals being best of 11 frames and the final being best of 13 frames.
Any professional pool players ranked in the top 32 of the IPA tour will be off minus 2 and any professionals ranked outside the top 32 and amateur players of a similar standard (this is at the organiser’s discretion) will be off minus 1.
All monies collected will be paid out in prize money and the tables will all be on free play.

Miscues writes This event is open to amateur's only.
It will be held at Miscues, Barnsley, over the Foster's International Pool Masters weekend.
Registrations will be taken at 10.30am on Saturday 1 November for a 11.00am start.
Entry is only £5 per person to win part of a £1,000 prizefund.
World 8 ball pool rules apply and there is no dress code.
As mentioned, the Foster's International Pool Masters is also taking place that weekend which is going to be televised for BSkyB Sky Sports.
A 50% disount on tickets to the tv event will be offered to each entrant into the amateur comp.

Miscues writes This event will run alongside the Foster's International Pool Masters at Miscues, Barnsley on Sunday 2 November.
Open to the first 64 players.
There is a £40 entry fee with a chance of winning part of a £2,500 prizefund.
Registrations will be taken at 10.30am for an 11.00am start.
Entrants into either this event or the amateur open on Saturday 1 Nov will receive 50% discount on tickets for the televised event.

Miscues writes Sat/Sun 1/2 November will see Miscues 24-32 Cheapside, Barnsley play host to the Fosters International Pool Masters, which is being televised for BSkyB Sky Sports.
Some of the top names in the sport make the line up, which is shown below.

Miscues writes Following the success of the Yorkshire open and by request, we are looking to hold another fun day of competitive pool at Miscues, Barnsley on the 27th September.
There will be a £10 entry fee into this amateur only event. We will also be holding a 'pick your own partner' doubles event at £10 per player.

Looking for a team tournament to enter this Autumn? Dishers Pool & Snooker Club in Crewe will be hosting such an event, to be run by Premier Pool Promotions, on Saturday 25th October 2008 and everyone at the Cheshire venue invites you to take part!
* Open to all. Maximum one pro per team and teams will be vetted, i.e. entry accepted at the tournament organisers discretion
* All matches played to full World rules, best of 9 frames (Golden Cue format)
* First round played on round robin basis (i.e. 8 groups of 4 teams) with the top 2 teams from each group progressing to the knockout phase. This guarantees everyone a full days' play
* £30 per team entry (i.e. tenner each)
* Prize money paid to Top 8 teams

If anyone that is playing the Doubles this Sunday the 31st August has a different partner to the one on the sheet and gets through can they please tell me the new name so that when I do the next draw it will be correct.
Also as it is such a big knockout can you clearly state the venue you played at so that I can find it on the sheet I will do my best to answer all the calls but as you can imagine they usually all come through at once so some do get the answer phone, also I am playing a match as well.

lifeizfab writes Premier Pool Promotions, in association with 8n9.com - The Sports Clothing Company, are pleased to announce preliminary details for the 2009 8n9.com Premier Pool Tour.
As previous seasons the tour will be played around the midlands and north west of England however we will be introducing new venues and a change of format to the Grand Final and are confident we will provide the country's top semi-national tour for 8-ball pool players and, very possibly, the cheapest!
£14,000 TOUR PRIZE FUND
Entry to the tour will be just £135 (which includes official tour shirt) and for this players will play at 4 events followed by a Grand Final, as follows.....
4 events in the North West (for upto 64 players):
March 14th
April 18th
May 16th
September 5th
and 4 events in the Midlands (for upto 64 players) on the same dates.
Grand Final: Weekend of 13th-15th November 2009.
The Grand Final will be open to all tour players, upto 128, and will be seeded (Events 1-4 are open draws). ie Number one from North West players Number 64 from Midlands in round one, and so on...There will be numerous other events and flyers at the Grand Final weekend, venue to be confirmed shortly.
Each of the first four events will have a prize fund of £1,300 (including £400 to the winner, paid down to the Last 16 and free plate) with the Grand Final around £4,000 (including £1,000 to the winner, paid down to the Last 32 and free plate).
The Premier Pool Tour is open to all however professional cue sport players are handicapped at the tournament committee's discretion (full details to follow). As a guide this years pro's start off minus one frame against amateurs.
As before all matches are played to full World rules, best of 11 frames with lag for break.
Exact venue details will be confirmed shortly however the above dates are set and we are now taking entries. We expect this tour to be as popular as previous years, moreso with the new format, and places will be taken strictly on a first come-first served basis. You can reserve your tour place with a £25 deposit and you will be contacted with details of when the balance is due (approximately one month before Event 1).
